Beverly Hills defeated Woodbridge, 77-64, in the first-round of the Southern California Regional Division II playoffs on Tuesday at Woodbridge High.
‘This is the first time in the school’s history that we’ve won a state game,’ said Beverly Hills Coach Charles Solomon.
The Normans were up, 47-30, midway through the third quarter, then Woodbridge slowly chipped away at that lead to come within six points with four minutes left in the game
Miranda Abdul-Mansour responded by hitting a three-pointer with 3:20 to go.
‘That was the dagger,’ Solomon said.
Abdul-Mansour had a team-high 24 points, Chelsea Austin scored 23 and Morgan Mason added 10 in her first appearance this year since suffering a knee injury.
Ashley Ward had a game-high 32 points for Woodbridge.
