Baseball: JSerra pulls out win in seventh inning

San Juan Capistrano JSerra, ranked No. 3 by The Times, got a game-winning RBI single from Bret Dahlson in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Corona Santiago, 5-4, on Thursday.

Grahamm Wiest struck out nine in five innings. JSerra (3-1) also received three hits from Tyler Krause and a solo home run from Clay Williamson. Kyle Kuck hit his fourth home run for Santiago, a two-run shot, to tie the game in the sixth.

David Armendariz hit two home runs and Conner Garelich added a home run in Sherman Oaks Notre Dame’s 16-8 victory over Burbank.

Montclair Prep improved to 3-0 in the Royal tournament with a 10-1 win over Culver City. Max Fried allowed one unearned run in five innings. Max Miller went four for four and Ben McKendall had two hits and two RBIs.

Granada Hills (2-1) defeated Verdugo Hills, 12-1, in a game stopped after five innings because of the mercy rule. Mike Acosta picked up the pitching victory and also had a double, home run and four RBIs.

Arleta defeated San Marcos, 7-4. Miguel Perez had a two-run pinch-hit double in the seventh to tie the game.
