The last non-San Fernando Valley team to win a City Section baseball title is San Pedro, and the Pirates could be a contender this season based on their 8-1 start.

They knocked off Redondo, 6-2, on Saturday in their latest victory.Ronnie Galosic, the quarterback for the football team, had a two-run double in the fourth inning.

Deano Boskovich had two hits and two RBIs.
