BAKERSFIELD _ A year ago, Richard Solomon was near tears after Torrance Bishop Montgomery blew a one-point lead and lost at the buzzer in the Division IV final in Sacramento. On Friday, the 6-foot-9 Solomon is making sure his new school, L.A. Price, comes away with the Division IV title.

Solomon has been in dominant form, scoring 11 points, to help Price take a 26-17 lead over Albany St. Mary’s with three minutes left in the second quarter. Price, after trailing, 11-6, went on a 13-0 run that culminated in a Solomon one-handed dunk off a baseline lob pass.
