Southern Section teams announced in basketball

The All-CIF Southern Section teamsin boys’ and girls’ basketball selected by the coaches have been released.

For boys, in Division 1AA, Tyler Lamb and Gary Franklin Jr. shared player of the year honors. In 1A, it was Amir Garrett and Delon Wright from Lawndale Leuzinger.

In 2AA, it was Justin Gudger from Murrieta Valley. In 2A, it was Alex Varner and Kirby Gardner from Rialto Eisenhower.

In 3AA, it was Miles Carrillo from Santa Ana Foothill. In 3A, it was Vaughn Autry and Keith Shamburger from Gardena Serra.

In 4AA, it was Allen Crabbe from Los Angeles Price and Tyler Funk from Orange Lutheran. In 4A, it was Blake Stanton from Encino Crespi.

In 5AA, it was CJ Cooper from La Verne Lutheran and Wesley Saunders from Los Angeles Windward. In 5A, it was Ivan Matip and Yannick Atanga from Ojai Besant Hill.

In 6AA, it was Jon Conley from Ribet. In 6A, it was Allen Kazanigian from Pasadena AGBU and Daniel Soto from Garden Grove Padre Pio.

In girls, Long Beach Poly’s Sheila Boykin was the 1AA player of the year and Santa Monica’s Thea Lemberger earned the 1A award.
