Sophomore Lucas Giolito threw a one-hitter, striking out four and walking two, as North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake stunned No. 2-ranked Encino Crespi, 10-0, at Valley College in a Mission League game.

It was a complete turnaround for Harvard-Westlake (14-12-1, 5-6), which a week ago played miserably in two losses to Los Angeles Loyola by scores of 22-2 and 10-3. But Joe Cadiff started the Wolverines’ scoring with an RBI single, and Giolito was in complete control.

Crespi (19-5, 6-3) dropped out of a first-place tie with West Hills Chaminade after the Eagles defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 11-2. Michael Dingilian improved to 6-0. Jason D’Andrea hit a double and home run. Dylan Delaney added three hits.

In the Valley Mission League, San Fernando defeated Monroe, 12-2.

In the Olympic League, Grant Escobar outdueled Max Fried to give Whittier Christian a 1-0 win over Van Nuys Montclair Prep (18-6, 8-1). Escobar struck out three and walked one while allowing four hits. Fried struck out eight.
