About the only people not surprised that Dana Point Dana Hills upset No. 4-seeded Huntington Beach Edison on Thursday are those who saw South Coast League teams knock each other off this season.

‘Every game is a playoff game,’ Dana Hills Coach Tom Faris said of the tough league games.

Dana Hills finished fourth, behind Aliso Niguel, San Clemente and Mission Viejo. The defending Division 1 champion, Capistrano Valley, didn’t even make the playoffs out of the South Coast.

Dana Hills will host Murrieta Valley in Tuesday’s second-round game. San Clemente is also still alive and hosts JSerra.

The best Division 1 second-round game could be Santa Ana Mater Dei traveling to Camarillo and trying to win again with Cory Hahn on the mound.
