Golf: Westlake’s Katz wins CIF/SCGA title

Jake Katz of Westlake Village Westlake birdied the third playoff hole to win the CIF/SCGA championship Thursday in Murrieta and advance to the state championships June 8 at Santa Maria Country Club.

Katz shot a 7-under 65 to tie with Mark Jensma of Aliso Niguel and Andrew Levitt of Santa Margarita before winning in a playoff.

Torrey Pines edged Anaheim Servite by a single stroke for the team title. Those two teams, along with Santa Barbara, advance to the state championships.
