Ryan Anderson, the 6-foot-7 senior from Long Beach Poly, returned to town Wednesday after being at a camp in Chicago that featured Kevin Durant.

Anderson came back bigger and stronger than ever and showed it by scoring 19 points in Poly’s 85-65 victory over Los Angeles Crenshaw in a quarterfinal game of the Fairfax tournament. Crenshaw had no one to deal with Anderson’s physical play inside.

The Jackrabbits’ strength is that they have more than one weapon. USC-bound point guard Alexis Moore had 21 points, sophomore Roschon Prince had 18 points and Alex Carmon added 10 points.

The game was briefly halted with 2:04 left after double technicals were called against Carmon and Crenshaw’s Darnell Taylor, who had 18 points. Isaac Hamilton of Crenshaw was limited to four points until the final nine minutes and finished with 17. Tony Tubbs made five three-pointers for the Cougars.

Poly will play Dorsey in a semifinal game Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Fairfax. Dorsey defeated St. Bernard, 80-71. In Thursday games, Woodland Hills Taft will face Santa Ana Mater Dei at 8:30 p.m. and Santa Monica will play Los Angeles Price at 7 p.m.
