Football: Servite having easy time against Kennedy

Fullback Sean Derosa powered into the end zone from six yards out to cap a 66-yard, eight-play drive and wide receiver Robert Abeyta caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cody Pittman on the Friars’ next possession to increase Servite’s lead to 20-0 over host Kennedy midway through the second quarter.

Pittman has been almost perfect so far, completing 10 of 11 passes for 67 yards and rushing three times for 14 yards. Derosa has gained 47 yards in eight carries.

Kennedy quarterback Anthony Chavez is one of five for nine yards and has been sacked three times. Jonathan Williams has 27 yards in nine carries for the Golden Cougars, who have yet to cross midfield.
