It’s been all Servite so far in tonight’s intersectional matchup against Granada Hills Kennedy.

The Friars have scored on all four of their possessions and lead 27-0 at halftime. Junior quarterback Cody Pittman played only three series but carved up the Kennedy defense, completing 10 of 12 attempts for 67 yards and one touchdown. He also ran in the Friars’ first touchdown.

Backup Butch Pauu engineered Servite’s final scoring drive, which consisted of nine plays and covered 56 yards, capped by a four-yard scamper by fullback Jody Thomas with 40 seconds left in the second quarter.

Malik Felton has four catches for 28 yards, Robert Abeyta has three receptions for 20 yards and one touchdown and junior running back Sean Derosa has rushed eight times for 47 yards and one touchdown.

Kennedy was held to 21 yards from scrimmage in the first 24 minutes. Jonathan Williams has 32 yards in 10 carries but quarterback Anthony Chavez was sacked three times for minus-20 yards and completed one of five pass attempts for nine yards.

Servite will receive the second-half kickoff.
