Kennedy has finally given its fans something to cheer about.

Jonathan Williams scored on a five-yard run to get the Golden Cougars on the scoreboard against Southern Section power Anaheim Servite, The Times’ third-ranked team.

Kennedy trails 48-7 with 10:03 left in the fourth quarter, but Nate Raymundo just electrified the home crowd by scooping up a fumble on a busted play and racing 70 yards to the Friars’ five-yard line. Williams powered across the goal line on the next play.

Williams has accounted for more than half of Kennedy’s yardage. He has been most effective running between the tackles, gaining 62 yards in 18 carries.
