The stands are steadily filling here at West Hills Chaminade for the Mission League showdown between the Eagles (8-0, 3-0) and Gardena Serra (8-0, 3-0).

Serra, the Times’ No. 5 ranked team in the Southland, features a high-powered offense that’s averaging 41 points per game and is winning games by an average of 29.1 points. The Cavaliers are led by two big-play senior receivers in George Farmer and Marqise Lee, who have both caught 11 touchdowns and are averaging more than 25 yards per catch.

Chaminade, the Times’ No. 21 team, is averaging 35 points per game and has won by an average margin of 17.3 points per game. But the Eagles don’t seem to stand much of a chance here at senior night. Still, Chaminade’s second-year head coach Ed Croson told The Times’Eric Sondheimer r earlier this week that the Eagles would throw everything at Serra, ‘including the kitchen sink.’
