On third and goal, Garfield quarterback Nicky Peralta rolled out and connected with Moses Saucedo for a four-yard touchdown to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead with 4 minutes 20 seconds left in the first quarter of the East L.A. Classic at East L.A. College.

Garfield had a shaky first series, throwing a lateral on the opening kickoff that went out of bounds before being held to one first down and punting the ball away. But Roosevelt went for it on fourth down near midfield and came up short, giving the ball back to the Bulldogs before they drove for game’s first score.
