Roosevelt missed a 39-yard field goal with 10 minutes 10 seconds left in the East L.A. Classic, preserving Garfield’s 7-3 lead.

It was a big play because the Rough Riders seem incapable of sustaining long drives, and now they will need a touchdown to win.

Garfield running back Lance Fernandez is chewing up large chunks of yardage, with 140 yards in 15 carries. If the Bulldogs keep putting the ball in his hands and can avoid the turnovers that have plagued them so far, they should hold on.
