Mater Dei needed just two plays and 25 seconds to pull even with top-seeded Mission Viejo in their Pac-5 Division semifinal showdown at Santa Ana Stadium.

Freddie Mora took a handoff, broke to the outside and scored from 17 yards out to tie the game, 7-7, with 10:31 remaining in the first quarter.

Treavon Coley gave the Monarchs great starting field position with a 52-yard kickoff return.
