Girls’ basketball: Brea wins Ladycat Classic

After trailing 34-26 at halftime, Brea Olinda capitalized on two of Long Beach Poly’s star players getting into foul trouble in the third quarter to come back and win the Ladycat Classic championship on Saturday, 60-53.

Kietra Wallace had 19 points, Taylor Spears had 14 and Justine Hartman added 13 for Brea (4-0), ranked No. 2 in the Southland by the Times.

No. 3 Poly (3-1) was led by Ariya Crook-Williams with 22 points. Destiny King added eight points and eight rebounds.
