Boys’ basketball: Kennedy wins its 10th in a row

Granada Hills Kennedy won its 10th consecutive basketball game on Monday night, defeating Reseda, 59-55, with sophomore point guard Dom Vargas scoring 27 points.

The Golden Cougars are 7-0 in the Valley Mission League and 14-8 overall.

In the Western League, Palisades gave Westchester a scare before falling, 70-67. Westchester made several clutch free throws in the final 40 seconds to prevail. Junior Donovan Johnson had 30 points for Palisades.

Fairfax defeated Hamilton, 53-33. Laik Carter scored 17 points and Landon Drew had 11 rebounds and 10 assists. L.A. University defeated Venice, 70-68, in overtime. David Nwaba had 29 points and nine rebounds for University (19-5, 4-1).

In the West Valley League, Woodland Hills Taft defeated Woodland Hills El Camino Real, 92-38. Brandon Perry had 17 points, Khiry Williams 15 and Spencer Dinwiddie 13.
