Girls’ basketball: Anaheim Canyon wins 2A title

Tyler Prange scored 22 points, Allie Henderson had 16 and Christina Salvatore added 11 as Anaheim Canyon used sizzling three-point shooting to take down top-seeded Harvard-Westlake of North Hollywood in the Southern Section Division 2A championship game at the Anaheim Convention center.

The second-seeded Comanches (23-8) shot 41.7% from long range and were 53.1% from the field. Canyon led 29-25 at halftime and 46-39 after three quarters before blowing the game open with a 10-2 run midway through the fourth quarter.

Esther Lee had 13 points, Hilary King had nine and Skylar Tsutsui, who averages 14.0 points per game, was held to eight for the Wolverines (24-9), who shot just 27.1% and suffered their first defeat in 13 games.
