Ventura has stormed ahead and its fans are going crazy at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The top-seeded Cougars have used a 9-1 run to take a 41-37 lead over Mission Viejo with 3:57 left in the Division 2AA final. Back-to-back baskets by Richard Thomas tied it at the 5:31 mark, then Jon McMurry made two free throws and Jaren Wilson made a short jumper to give Ventura a four-point lead.

There’s still plenty of time left, but the Cougars have stolen the momentum and Mission Viejo players are looking flustered.
