The spring travel season in basketball is about to begin, and if you want an underrated player to watch, here’s my pick: 6-foot-2 junior-to-be guard Ron Lee Jr. of Oak Park.

He averaged 21.3 points as a sophomore and continues to make steady progress as a point guard while growing into his body.

He’s going to play for the Pump N Run 16 Elite team, and let’s see what he can do during spring and summer. I have a suspicion he’s going to emerge as a solid college prospect.

Another player who should do well is Encino Crespi junior-to-be London Perrantes. He was injured much of his sophomore year.

Of course, the best young guard in the Southland is Loyola’s Parker Cartwright, who was just honored on the All-CIF team as a freshman.
