Baseball: Vista Murrieta clinches league title

Vista Murrieta, ranked No. 3 in Southern Section Division 1, clinched the Southwestern League championship with a 2-1 victory over Murrieta Valley.

Joe Ortuno drove in Jagade Snyder with a two-strike, two-out walk-off single in the seventh inning.

Vista Murrieta is 19-4 overall and 11-1 in league.

Huntington Beach Edison (21-2, 12-0) clinched the Sunset League title with a 7-5 win over Los Alamitos. Christian Lopes hit two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. Henry Owens struggled on the mound, getting the win but giving up three runs in the top of the seventh.
