There will be no opportunity to compete for the City Section golf championship for Chatsworth, Woodland Hills El Camino Real, Granada Hills, Palisades and Woodland Hills Taft after the City rules committee imposed punishment for violation of section rules.
The five schools played 18-hole matches instead of nine-hole matches. Coaches were instructed before the season of the change made because girls’ teams were playing nine-hole matches in the fall.
Individual players from the punished schools will still be able to compete. The schools are expected to appeal the decision. The City championship tournament is May 23.
