Woodland Hills El Camino Real catcher Chris Whitmer suffered a concussion in his team’s 6-5 playoff victory over Narbonne. He was involved in a collision at home plate when a Narbonne runner ran into him. Whitmer later pitched for the Conquistadores before leaving the game after suffering concussion-like symptoms.

He was taken to a hospital after the game, Coach Josh Lienhard said. He will be re-evaluated next week to see whether he’ll be availabe for Wednesday’s semifinal game against San Fernando.
