La Verne Bonita remains the heavy favorite to win the Southern Section Division 3 champonship, but Irvine Woodbridge is getting the kind of hitting and pitching that will likely propel the Warriors to an appearance at Dodger Stadium.

In a 9-0 quarterfinal victory over Rialto, Ben Wylly struck out seven and allowed three hits to improve to 4-0. He has thrown two complete games in the playoffs and Woodbridge pitchers have allowed three runs in three playoff games for Coach Tim Murray.

Brennan Leiato had a two-run home run and finished with three of his team’s 17 hits. Wylly and Brandon Smith also had three hits apiece.

Woodbridge (18-11) will face Culver City in one semifinal, with Bonita taking on Irvine Beckman in the other semifinal.
