A throwing error by Long Beach Wilson’s second baseman helped ignite a four-run fourth inning for Esperanza, which has taken a 5-2 lead over the Bruins in the Division 1 semifinal.

With runners on second and third, Wilson second baseman Daniel DeWolf came up with a ground ball but his throw to home was in the dirt, allowing two runs to score. Then Ryan Cooper added an RBI single and Brandon Morones added a run-scoring double.

The inning ended with Wilson right-fielder Chase DeJong throwing out a runner at the plate.
