It’s easy to overlook Moorpark in the Marmonte League with the likes of St. Bonaventure, Oaks Christian, Westlake and Thousand Oaks, but the Musketeers will be quite ready to offer strong competition this fall.

Quarterback Grant Rohach has a chance to be the best passer Coach Tim Lins has worked with, and he has had some good ones during his coaching days at Crespi and Moorpark. Rohach, who’s committed to Iowa State, picked apart the Westlake secondary in a quarterfinal win of the College of the Canyons tournament on Wednesday.

Moorpark also has a standout 5-foot-7 receiver in Alex Tolliver. And the Musketeers have a future college player in 6-2, 220-pound junior middle linebacker Tony Mack.

Moorpark made it to the championship game before losing to Mission Hills Alemany.
