Baseball: USA 18U championships postponed

The USA 18U baseball team was scheduled to leave later this month for Columbia to play in the Pan American championships, but the tournament has been postponed until Nov. 18-27, which is not good news for Bishop Amat.

That’s because it falls right in the middle of season-ending football action, and its quarterback, Rio Ruiz, is expected to make the 18U team.

Ruiz was scheduled to play one more game for the Lancers this coming week against Anaheim Servite, then leave for three games to play for the 18U team.

Now, who knows what Ruiz is going to do.
