One of the biggest questions for Mission Hills Alemany this season was whether junior quarterback Devon Dunn could take over and run the offense after the graduation of Vernon Adams, who led the Warriors into the Pac-5 semifinals.

The answer is a resounding yes. He has completed 66% of his passes for 1,031 yards and 11 touchdowns with one interception.

That’s a key development as Alemany prepares to defend its Serra League championship.

Of course, it helps to have a junior receiver like Steven Mitchell, who’s averaging 21.5 yards a reception.

Alemany Coach Dean Herrington told people Dunn would be just fine, and he has been more than that.
