Football: Redlands East Valley leads Mission Viejo, 10-0, at halftime

Mission Viejo’s best scoring opportunity of the first half ended dramatically when Redlands East Valley’s Daniel Gonzales intercepted a Alex Bridgford pass in the end zone in the final minute.

Bridgford connected on several passes in the closing minutes of the half to drive the Diablos into Redlands East Valley territory, pushing Mission Viejo to the 9-yard line. The Diablos then called a timeout to set up their potential touchdown play only to have it picked off.

Bridgford has 10 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions on the season.
