It’s like old times for fans of Los Angeles Loyola. The school used to play its home football games mostly on Saturday nights. Then the Cubs switched to Valley College.

But Loyola will be facing Valencia on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Valley College after the game was changed from Friday at the request of the Vikings because of Yom Kippur.

It’s an opportunity for players and coaches from the Serra League and the Foothill League to come and watch these two teams before league play begins next week.

So we’ll have to see if Loyola Coach Mike Christensen or Valencia Coach Larry Muir hold anything in reserve for the more important league games.
