The new Southern Section commissioner, Rob Wigod, is scheduled to meet with Marmonte League principals on Tuesday. Guess what the main topic of discussion will be? Probably how to get rid of Oaks Christian and St. Bonaventure in the next cycle of forming new leagues.

There’s two more years of the current league structure through 2013, and there’s already talk of schools wanting to break away, such as Moorpark, Agoura, Calabasas, Simi Valley and Royal. Oaks Christian wants to join the Marmonte League for all sports, which I’m sure the other league members are not thrilled about.

So Wigod will be entering a room filled with principals who are divided about what to do. That’s the same attitude as when the current arrangement came about in 2010. Nothing has changed. The plotting is under way to banish Oaks Christian and St. Bonaventure. And some aren’t happy with Westlake, either.

When Wigod gets introduced, there will be applause. Then the sniping will begin.
