Orange Lutheran (6-2, 1-2) earned its first Trinity League victory with a convincing 28-0 victory over Mater Dei on Friday night. The Lancers dominated defensively, shutting down quarterback Ryan McMahon.

Orange Lutheran running back Jabari Wilson scored the Lancers’ final touchdown on a 69-yard run in the fourth quarter. All of Orange Lutheran’s touchdowns came on plays of 30 yards or more.

The Monarchs’ best chance to score came in the final minute of the game when Mater Dei managed to get to the Orange Lutheran 11. But they failed to score after Mychal Traylor dropped a catchable pass from McMahon in the end zone.

Mater Dei (3-5, 1-2), which hasn’t scored a touchdown in two games, is in danger of not making the postseason for the first time since 1986.
