‘San Pedro is for real.’ So says Carson Coach Elijah Asante, whose team was beaten by the Pirates, 21-0.

San Pedro improved to 8-0 and set up a Marine League title showdown with Narbonne on Friday.

‘That’s going to be a style fight,’ Asante said. ‘It’s a puncher and a boxer. San Pedro is fundamentally sound and is a run, run, pass team. Narbonne is pass, pass, run Troy Williams on a trap. I don’t know which is going to prevail.’

The game certainly features the best two quarterbacks in the City Section in San Pedro’s Kenny Potter and Narbonne’s Williams.

The winner of Narbonne-San Pedro will battle it out with the winner of Thursday night’s game between Dorsey and Crenshaw for the No. 1 seed in the City Section Division I. That’s going to be an interesting debate.
