There’s two weeks left in the football regular season, and I’m suggesting coaches better start finding a lucky rabbit’s foot for the coin flips that will take place next week to decide playoff berths.

Yes, in the Serra League, I’m forecasting a three-way tie for third place among Crespi, Notre Dame and Bishop Amat, which would require coin flips to decide which team makes the Pac-5 Division playoffs.

And, if St. Bonaventure upsets Westlake next week, the luckiest coach in Southern California, Bill Redell of Oaks Christian, will get to participate in another coin flip to decide the Marmonte League champion. Last year, Oaks Christian came out the winner in the coin flips with Westlake and St. Bonaventure.

Of course, lots of unusual things have to happen to cause coin flips and they usually do.
