It’s not smart to give Alemany quarterback Devon Dunn a second chance. Loyola appeared to stop the Warriors with an incompletion on third down, but a roughing-the-passer penalty enabled Dunn to take advantage, and he fired a seven-yard touchdown pass to Jerico Richardson with 28 seconds left, allowing Alemany to take a 14-7 halftime lead over the Cubs.

Loyola failed to convered a recovered fumble on Alemany’s 25-yard line in second quarter. On fourth-and-one from the 16, quarterback Nicolas Cotton fumbled.
