Football: The wind is blowing at Moorpark College

There’s a steady, stiff wind at Moorpark College, and that could be a factor in the Marmonte League showdown game Thursday between Ventura St. Bonaventure and Westlake Village Westlake.

Westlake is 9-0. St. Bonaventure is 8-1. If St. Bonaventure wins, there will be likely a three-way tie for first place among the Seraphs, Westlake and Oaks Christian, requiring a coin flip late in the evening to decide the first three spots in the Northern Division playoffs.

The wind could be good and bad news. Don’t be surprised if Westlake’s Alex Ball gets the chance to try a long field goal. But the quarterbacks could face a challenge depending on what direction the wind is blowing.

The game begins at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen on Prime Ticket. And there’s lots of empty seats on the Westlake side of the field.
