Football: Servite defeats Santa Margarita in overtime, 43-42

Ainslie Johnson caught a two-point conversion pass from Cody Pittman to give No. 1 Servite a 43-42 overtime victory over Santa Margarita and its eighth consecutive Trinity League championship Friday night at Cerritos College.

No. 11 Santa Margarita got the ball first in overtime and needed five plays to take its first lead, 42-35, on Stanton’s five-yard keeper. Servite answered on its first possession, scoring on Pauu’s three-yard run.

Servite is 9-1, 5-0. Santa Margarita drops to 8-2, 3-2.
