Boys’ basketball: Long Beach Jordan defeats No. 6 St. John Bosco

Sophomore Rahshead Johnson made a 15-footer at the buzzer to give Long Beach Jordan a 76-74 victory over No. 6-ranked Bellflower St. John Bosco (5-1). Last week, Jordan knocked off another ranked team, St. Bernard. Isaac Hamilton had 29 points for St. John Bosco.
Sophomore Jordan McLaughlin made five three-pointers and finished with 26 points as Etiwanda (5-1) defeated Silverado, 75-59, in the Inland Empire Classic. Brandon Townes made five three-pointers and had 17 points. Sheldon Blackwell added 15 points.
In a Coliseum League opener, Crenshaw defeated Manual Arts, 58-41. Brandon Baker had 21 points and Andre Edwards 15.
In the Valley Mission League, Granada Hills Kennedy defeated Van Nuys, 52-27. Dom Vargas scored 16 points.
