Boys’ basketball: Landon Drew scores 25 points in Fairfax win

Landon Drew contributed 25 points and Ronny Price had 16 as Los Angeles Fairfax opened Western League play with an 83-48 victory over LACES. The Lions leave Thursday for a tournament in Hawaii.

Van Nuys Grant defeated Granada Hills, 59-51. Gor Plavchyan had 21 points and 16 rebounds.

In the Mira Costa tournament, South Torrance defeated Studio City Harvard-Westlake, 74-73, despite 28 points from sophomore Derick Newton.

Chaminade defeated Santa Paula, 78-42. Jaron Martin had 21 points and Jack Williams added 20 points and 16 rebounds.

In a nonleague game, Granada HIlls Kennedy defeated North Hollywood, 55-39. Danny Jiron made five three-pointers and finished with 20 points.
