Boys’ basketball: Jerico Richardson not just a football player

Jerico Richardson is a standout defensive back for Serra League champion Mission Hills Alemany. He’s committed to UCLA. On Thursday night, he also showed he can play some basketball too.

He scored 19 points, had 10 rebounds and 11 steals in an 85-62 win over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Marqueze Coleman scored 22 points and Max Guercy added 17 points and six assists. Alemany is 15-3 and 4-1 in the Mission League.

Chaminade pulled out a 55-48 overtime win over St. Francis. Jaron Martin had 18 points and Jack Williams added 14 points and 14 rebounds.

In New Orleans, St. John Bosco was beaten by O.P. Walker of New Orleans, 66-54. Isaac Hamilton had 21 points and 15 rebounds. Daniel Hamilton had 15 points and Darryl Matthews 13 points.
