Football: Harry Welch status is unchanged

Santa Margarita Coach Harry Welch is in his third week of administrative leave, with no change in his status, Diocese of Orange spokesman Stephen Bohannon said on Monday.

Welch has been under review by the Diocese and Santa Margarita following an allegation made from an anonymous tip that Welch pushed or shoved a player last December. The Orange County district attorney’s office declined to file charges.

‘Something came to the attention of the Diocese and the Santa Margarita administration, and they’re looking into it,’ Bohannon said last month.
