The first month of the City Section baseball season is almost over, and if you want an MVP for the opening month, it’s sophomore right-hander Alonza Garcia of San Fernando.
He improved to 4-0 on Tuesday, throwing a three-hitter to beat Verdugo Hills, 2-0. He struck out three and walked one.
All he does is throw strikes, keep his poise on the mound and win for the Tigers, who are 8-2.
