There’s no doubt that the top returning quarterback in the City Section this fall is Troy Williams of Narbonne.

But don’t forget about Jonathan Santos of South East. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound junior passed for 2,967 yards and 35 touchdowns last season, including five TD passes in the City Division II final won by South East, 51-34.

‘He’s really improved,’ South East Coach Derwin Henderson said.

Santos has been training under private coach Steve Clarkson.

‘He’s really a neat kid,’ Clarkson said. ‘He certainly can play college for somebody.’

South East will have some quality receivers for Santos to throw to, including Rayquan Ford, a transfer from Gardena Serra who’s the younger brother of Serra standout Raymond Ford.
