Football: Marcus Stamps is starting to pick up offers

One of the best players in the City Section this fall should be Marcus Stamps of Jefferson. He plays running back in the team’s double-wing offense and linebacker on defense.

He said he has a scholarship offer from Colorado and is in contact with several other schools.

He’s keeping his grades up and continues to be one of the most impressive players as far as work ethic and commitment.

At Wednesday’s City Section track and field championships, Stamps went 6-4 in the high jump to finish in third place and took fourth place in the long jump at 21-4 1/2.
