How do you pick up a scholarship offer after mostly playing junior varsity football?

Josh Rosen, who will be a sophomore quarterback at Bellflower St. John Bosco this fall, has an offer from Fresno State even though he was the Braves’ JV quarterback last season.

Coach Jason Negro said there will be many more offers to come for the 6-foot-2 Rosen, who has a 4.0 grade-point average and ‘a cannon for an arm.’

‘He’s special,’ Negro said.

Rosen didn’t play on varsity because St. John Bosco had a senior at quarterback and Negro said there was no reason ‘to rush him.’

But he’s ready to take over the Braves’ offense this coming season.
