The Marmonte League was moved into the Pac-5 Division this season, and on the opening weekend, we’ll get an early indication just how good the league might be.

Thousand Oaks, Oaks Christian and Westlake are headed to the Sacramento area for games as part of the Battle for Veterans event at Del Oro High in Loomis.

On Friday, Thousand Oaks is playing El Grove Franklin and Oaks Christian is facing Del Oro. On Saturday, Westlake is playing Granite Bay.

All three Marmonte League teams are ranked in The Times’ preseason top 25. They should be good form and provide a strong representation of Southern California football.

Then, next weekend, Westlake is hosting the Battle for Veterans in Southern California. Westlake will play Del Oro on Aug. 31. On Sept. 1, Upland will play Windsor and Oaks Christian will face Granite Bay.
