The playoffs begin on Friday, and that means it’s time for Vista Murrieta Coach Coley Candaele to turn loose Su’a Cravens.

Just like last season, Candaele has been picking his spots when and where to use the versatile Cravens.

He has been starting at safety for the Broncos while making occasional appearances on offense. In one game, he had a 102-yard interception return for a touchdown, a punt return for a touchdown and a 19-yard catch for a touchdown.

But as the games get tougher, Candaele will begin to let Cravens play more on offense. That means he’ll get the ball at running back and receiver.

Vista Murrieta is 10-0 and seeded No. 1 in the Inland Division. Last season, the Broncos were 14-0 on the field. To beat the Broncos, someone has to make sure Cravens stays quiet and uninvolved. And that’s going to be tough to pull off.
