Boys’ basketball: St. John Bosco opens Trinity League with victory

The Trinity League opened play on Wednesday night, and Bellflower St. John Bosco was ready. The Braves (9-1) received 25 points from Isaac Hamilton and 24 from Tyler Dorsey to defeat Orange Lutheran, 95-81. Daniel Hamilton had 15 points and Darien Williams 13. Payton Banks led Orange Lutheran with 23 points.

Top-ranked Santa Ana Mater Dei learned that the Trinity League will be very competitive after struggling to a 53-47 win over JSerra. Stanley Johnson had 19 points and 13 rebounds. Elijah Brown added 12 points. Johnnie Vasser led JSerra.

Servite continued its resurgence with a 51-43 victory over Santa Margarita. Neil Pau’u had 15 points.
