Boys’ basketball: Chris Sandifer scores 26 points for Gardena Serra

Chris Sandifer is finally eligible for Gardena Serra, and opponents had better watch out.

Sandifer, a junior, scored 26 points to help the Cavaliers defeat Inglewood, 64-57, on Saturday. Travion Dawson added 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Justin Bibbins made two free throws with three seconds left to enable Bishop Montgomery to hold off Redondo, 60-58. Lamond Murray Jr. had 22 points.

Julian Richardson scored 21 points in El Camino Real’s 71-46 win over Dorsey on Saturday. Maleke hayes added 15 points. The Conquistadores open West Valley League play on Wednesday against Cleveland.

Birmingham won its division of the Huntington Park tournament with a 60-53 win over Washington.Iseah Rodgers was the tournament MVP. He scored 13 points.

Campbell Hall defeated Flintridge Prep, 66-61. Aaron Holiday had 29 points and Kahlil Simplis 21. Robert Cartwright scored 27 points for Flintridge Prep.

Cathedral defeated Dominguez, 61-52. Josh Brown scored 28 points. Henry Dodson had 22 points for Dominguez.

La Verne Lutheran defeated Taft, 67-56. Kris Yanku had 18 points and Usama Zaid 15. Jay Miller led Lutheran with 20 points. Palisades defeated Price, 63-60. Ammar Rehman scored 18 points and Aaron Johnson 16.

Canyon Country Canyon was beaten by San Diego Hoover, 78-55. Marc Cabrera scored 24 points. University defeated Verdugo Hills, 76-45.
